The Cavaliers organized the first-ever gay leather chili cook off at Lafitte's, in conjunction with the Fifth Friday BLOCK beer bust. The contest had entries from the Lords, the Outlaws, the Cavaliers, and the Knights. Doc's Sweet Burning Bush Chili won the Grand Championship and People's Choice. The Lords' Chernobyl Chili won the hottest award, while their Grand Gulf Chili won best tasting. The Knights won best name with Good Knight Chili, while the Outlaws won best presentation with their southwestern decorations. Judges included Wally Sherwood, Larry Bagneris, Lance Ford, Princess Stephanie, and Mark Colley. The event raised $268 for Food for Friends.
